Updates without a phone call
Snowmass sends your customers automatic email and SMS (via Twilio) status alerts as a storm progresses, so they're never left wondering — and your office isn't fielding calls.
What triggers an alert
- Pass started — service on their event has begun.
- En route with an ETA — a machine is on its way, with a live arrival estimate.
- Service complete — their property is done.
- Event status — the storm's overall status changed.
Done responsibly
Automated messaging is easy to get wrong. Snowmass is built to do it safely:
- TCPA-safe — contacts are verified before anything sends, and there's per-channel opt-out.
- STOP handling — Twilio STOP replies are honored automatically.
- Quiet hours — no messages outside the org's configured quiet window, in the org's own timezone (it correctly wraps past midnight).
- Localized — each contact hears from you in their language, English or Quebec French.
- No double-texts — an idempotency cache prevents the same SMS going out twice.
Customers stay in control
Every contact can unsubscribe from alerts per channel from the portal; re-enabling a channel means asking the operator to turn it back on. The goal is the right amount of information: enough to reassure, never enough to annoy.
