Where it compounds

The denser your book, the bigger the gain

Dynamic dispatch pays off most exactly where legacy tools hurt most: dense clusters of properties with short travel times between them. When driveways are packed tight, a few seconds of smarter positioning per stop compounds across hundreds of stops a storm — coverage a hand-built route simply can't match. On sparse rural runs the gap narrows; in the high-density residential work Snowmass is built for, it widens all storm long.

The honest tradeoff

A swarm trades some route familiarity — on a fixed weekly route, drivers learn every curb and obstacle. In practice it converges toward stable routes over a season, and the resilience it buys during no-shows, breakdowns, and big storms outweighs that for dense operations where emergencies are routine.

It's also not all-or-nothing. Direction control lets you shape the sweep, and reserve lets a dispatcher hold a specific property for a specific operator when local knowledge should win — the person who always handles that tricky, steep driveway can still get it. You keep the judgment calls that matter; the swarm takes the thousand small ones that don't.
