Locations organize your book

A location is a region your fleet services — a city, a borough, a contract zone. Every property belongs to exactly one location, and passes are built within a location. Think of it as the folder that keeps a large book of properties from turning into one unmanageable list.

When to add a location

Add a separate location when a group of properties is genuinely operated apart:

  • A different depot stages the machines that serve it.
  • A different crew or shift covers it.
  • It's far enough that you'd never dispatch one storm across both at once.

If two clusters share a yard and a crew, they can usually live in the same location.

Create one

  1. Open Locations and choose New location.
  2. Name it after the region as your team refers to it (the neighbourhood, the town, the contract).
  3. Save, then assign properties to it — from each property, or in bulk during CSV import.

How locations shape dispatch

When you open a storm and build a pass, you're working inside a location's set of properties. Keeping locations tight means a pass covers a sensible geographic area and the swarm's distances stay realistic. Sprawling, everything-in-one-location setups make passes harder to reason about — split them when a region grows its own depot and crew.
