Importing properties from CSV

When to import

If you're onboarding a whole contract — dozens or hundreds of properties — don't fill in the new-property form that many times. A CSV import creates every property in one pass — you supply the coordinates in the file — and drops you into a book you can refine.

Prepare your file

1. From Properties, choose Import and download the template.
2. Fill one row per property. The template's columns:
   • name — what the property is called.
   • address — the property's street address.
   • lat and lng — the map coordinates for the pin. Snowmass places the property exactly where these point, so fill them in for every row.
   • location — the region this property belongs to.
   • service plan — optional, but setting it here saves a step later.
3. Keep the header row exactly as the template ships it.

Run the import

1. Upload your filled-in file. The import runs in one shot — it creates the rows right away.
2. Snowmass shows you the results: how many properties were created, and any rows it couldn't accept.
3. Fix the flagged rows (a missing coordinate, an unknown location) in your file and upload it again.

After importing

• Check the map. Confirm each property landed where its coordinates put it, and open any that look off to correct them.
• Draw boundaries for the properties that need reliable arrival detection — the import brings in the point, not the lot outline.
• Add contacts where customers want updates.

Importing gets you a working book in minutes; the boundaries and contacts are the polish you add afterward.
