Language (English / French Canada)

Set the interface and customer-alert language for your organization.

Two languages, one setting

Snowmass ships in English and French (Canada). An admin sets the organization's language, and that choice does two things:

  • Interface — the staff web app and the operator tablet render in that language.
  • Customer alerts — the default language for the emails and texts your customers receive.

Per-contact override for customers

Language on customer alerts follows the individual contact's own language when one is set on their record. So a French-speaking property owner gets French updates even if your organization runs in English, and vice-versa. The organization language is the fallback when a contact has no preference of their own.

Choosing French (Canada)

Choose French (Canada) — not generic French. Snowmass uses Quebec French conventions and terminology throughout (for example déneigement, tracteur, tournée). The distance unit is a separate setting, so you can run in French with either metric or imperial distances.

When it takes effect

The interface language changes on your next page load. A short settings cache (a few minutes) means it may take a moment to apply everywhere. Alerts already queued keep the language they were composed in; new alerts use the current setting.
