Winter-operations KPIs
The five storm metrics Snowmass tracks for you — on the dashboard and charted over time.
The five that matter
Snowmass computes five KPIs from data every storm already produces — no extra logging:
- SLA attainment — the share of properties cleared within your contracted window.
- Coverage over time — how much of the storm was complete at each point through it.
- Idle & overlap — time a machine sat idle, or worked redundantly close to a peer.
- Plow-lag / recheck rate — how often properties needed a return trip, and how long re-accumulation took.
- Machines-to-coverage — properties covered per machine deployed.
On your dashboard
The dashboard's storm-performance panel shows all five, both season-to-date and for your latest storm, with the coverage curve drawn as it built through that storm. It's computed once per page load, separate from the live fleet view above it, so it never churns as pings arrive.
Setting your SLA window
SLA attainment needs a target to measure against. In Settings → Operations, set SLA target (hours) — the window a property should be cleared within, counted from a run's start. It's one window for the whole organization. Leave it blank and attainment simply stays hidden rather than showing a number against a target you never set.
Tracking improvement over time
The dashboard answers "how are we doing now." The KPI trends report (under Reports) answers "are we improving." Pick any date range and each KPI is charted storm over storm — attainment and coverage climbing, idle, overlap and plow-lag falling, as your dispatch tightens across the season.
