What are restricted and warning zones?
Two ways to mark areas on your map: no-go zones and caution zones.
Restricted & Warning Zones

Two types of zones
Snowmass lets you draw two kinds of zones on your map to guide where your vehicles go and how they navigate:
- Restricted zones (no-go) — areas your fleet must avoid completely. A vehicle's turn-by-turn navigation (and simulation routes) automatically route around a restricted zone; if a stop is boxed in with no way to route to it, the map shows a dashed straight-line to it instead.
- Warning zones (caution) — areas you want operators to be careful in. A vehicle's path crossing a warning zone turns orange on the map to alert the driver, but the vehicle can still enter.
Why admins use zones
Use restricted zones to:
- Block off construction sites, hazardous areas, or neighborhoods where you don't service.
- Protect sensitive routes (e.g., hospital grounds, school zones).
- Exclude areas where vehicle access is prohibited.
Use warning zones to:
- Mark difficult terrain, tight intersections, or narrow streets where caution is needed.
- Highlight areas with special conditions (steep grades, high traffic, ice-prone roads).
- Alert operators to areas requiring slower, more deliberate work.
Layer 1: Navigation
Zones currently steer your vehicles' turn-by-turn navigation around (restricted) or through with caution (warning). The swarm's work-assignment scoring does not yet consider zones — that is planned for a future release.
