Creating a warning zone
- Open Zones from the left nav, under Setup.
- Click "New Zone". A form opens.
- Fill in the form:
- Type — select Warning.
- Label — a short, clear name (e.g., "Narrow residential streets," "Highway access").
- Active — check the box to enable the zone immediately.
- Draw the boundary with the boundary picker: tap to add a point, drag a point to adjust it, and tap a point to remove it. Place points around the area you want to flag.
- Click Create Zone.
What happens after you save
- Any path through the warning zone turns orange on the vehicle's route display to alert the operator.
- The vehicle is not blocked from entering; it simply gets a visual alert that the area requires caution.
- Operators on the property see the orange path and know to work carefully in that zone.
Tips
- Warning zones are best for areas with special hazards or conditions, not for general avoidance.
- Make warning zone boundaries tight and specific so the orange alert is meaningful to operators.
- Use clear names that explain the caution (e.g., "Steep grade — take care" or "Tight turns").
