Restricted & Warning Zones
Updated 2026-08-09
Editing a zone
- Open Zones from the left nav.
- Find the zone in the index list and click its Edit link.
- On the edit form you can:
- Redraw the boundary — tap to add a point, drag a point to adjust it, tap a point to remove it.
- Change the label — edit the "Label" field.
- Switch the type — choose Restricted or Warning.
- Reactivate or deactivate — use the "Active" checkbox.
- Click Update Zone to apply changes. The change takes effect immediately on all vehicles.
Deactivating a zone
You don't have to delete a zone to temporarily stop enforcing it. Open the zone's Edit form and uncheck Active:
- The zone is still in your database and visible in the zone list.
- Vehicles no longer route around (restricted) or see the orange alert (warning).
- You can reactivate it later by checking Active back on.
Use deactivation when a construction site is paused, a road is temporarily reopened, or you want to test without fully deleting.
Deleting a zone
- Open Zones from the left nav.
- Find the zone in the index list.
- Click its Delete link and confirm.
- The zone is removed immediately. Vehicles are no longer constrained by it.
Tips
- Always test zone changes on the map before relying on them during a dispatch.
- If a vehicle's route suddenly changes unexpectedly, check that a zone wasn't accidentally created or modified.
- Keep zone names clear and dated if they're temporary (e.g., "Construction — Aug 2024").
