Standby — your home between runs

What standby is

When you sign in and you're not on a run, Snowmass drops you on your standby home — not a settings page. It's your waiting room: everything you might act on right now, in one place.

What you'll see

• Runs you can join. Every live run at your location — storms and driveway-marker runs — each with a Join button. Tap one to start your shift.
• Nothing live? A clear "nothing to plow right now" message. You're done until dispatch starts a run; the moment they do, it appears here.
• Dispatch is asking. If a dispatcher sent an availability request, it shows here with a Respond link, so a poll never gets missed.
• What you cover. The locations you're assigned to (or "all locations" if you're not restricted).

Joining a run

Tap Join on any run to reach its join screen: pick your machine, optionally pick the depot you're rolling out of, and start. From that moment you're on shift and Snowmass switches to the driving view. See Join a run and start your shift.

If you were already on a run

You won't land on standby — Snowmass takes you straight back into your run (even a paused one), so you pick up where you left off. Standby is only for when you have no active run.

Getting back to standby

Wandered off to your profile or the help centre? Standby is in your menu — tap it any time to get back to the list of joinable runs.
