Crew & communication

Two jobs, one place
A storm has two people problems. Before it starts, you need to know who can work and get them to the shop on time. During it, you need a clean line between every operator and the dispatcher — without the radio chatter.
Snowmass covers both, and it keeps them separate so nothing gets lost.
Before the storm — mobilization
- Availability polls — ask the whole crew "can you work today?" and watch answers come in.
- Attendance confirmation — "be at the shop at 7" with a real-time late/on-time board.
- Mass stand-down — one message to tell everyone the storm fizzled and to stay home.
During the storm — communication
- Two-way chat between each operator and the dispatcher, with a push to the operator's device.
- Fleet-wide broadcast — one message to every machine at once.
- The message board — every on-shift operator's thread in a single view for the dispatcher.
Where to go next
Each of these has its own article in this section. If a storm is coming right now, start with the pre-storm mobilization workflow — it walks the whole sequence in order.
