Crew call: know who's coming before the first flake

Tell Snowmass how many operators you need, tap once, and watch the answers land.

One call per storm

Every storm event has one crew call. You say how many operators you need, tap Call crew, and everyone you asked gets it by email and push notification with two big buttons: I'm coming or Can't make it. No phone tree, no spreadsheet.

Set it up

  1. Open the event and go to its Crew tab (events/:id?tab=crew).
  2. Set operators needed.
  3. Pick who to ask, then tap Call crew.

Only people who can manage the crew for that event see the tab (admins and dispatchers).

Watch the answers

Each operator you asked shows one of three states:

  • Coming
  • Can't — with an optional reason chip, so you know why
  • No answer — they haven't tapped yet

A live banner tells you where you stand: Need 2 more. When you're short, Ask the rest sends the call to the operators you haven't asked yet. Answers are changeable until you stand the crew down, so a "can't" at 9 p.m. can become a "coming" at 6 a.m.

Call it off once

If the forecast turns, tap Stand down all. Everyone who was called is told, and nobody drives in for a storm that didn't arrive. It's one tap instead of eleven phone calls at ten at night.

What the passes keep

Passes still carry their own optional plan fields (report time, place and notes) and the planned → released flow. The headcount, though, lives only on the crew call.
