Closing out a storm
Wind down an event cleanly so your records, billing, and customers all line up.
Storms, runs & passes

When the storm is done
Once every pass is cleared and the fleet is heading back to the yard, close out the event. Closing tells Snowmass the storm is over: it stops treating the event's work as live, wraps up customer-facing status, and locks the storm into your history as a complete record.
Before you close
- Check for stranded or open stops. The dashboard flags any pending work with no live machine, or claims still sitting open. Resolve them — reassign, reopen, or skip with a reason — so nothing is silently left undone.
- Let rechecks settle. If properties are in a plow-ridge cooldown waiting for a return, give them their pass before you close.
- Confirm operators have ended their runs and logged their evidence.
Close the event
- Open the event and choose Close storm.
- Confirm. The storm moves to your history; customers see it wrapped.
What closing gives you
- Clean history. The event, its passes, runs, and every service visit — with photos and materials — stay fully readable for billing disputes, insurance, and QA.
- Customer wrap-up. Contacts can get the storm's closing status.
- Honest billing inputs. A tidy event per storm keeps your monthly usage — active operators and the informational vehicle count — easy to reconcile.
Good habits
- Don't leave storms open. A lingering open event muddies your live dashboard and your history. Close it when the work's truly done.
- Close, don't delete. A finished storm is a record you'll want later; closing keeps it, deleting throws away the evidence.
