Activating a pass

Commit the fleet — the moment the swarm starts claiming and clearing.

Storms, runs & passes Updated 2026-08-09

Activation is go-time

Building a pass stages it; activating it is what puts the fleet to work. Once a pass is active, its properties become live work the swarm can claim, operators on runs start pulling their next properties, and customers with a live view begin seeing progress. Nothing gets dispatched until you activate.

Activate a pass

  1. Open the staged pass and give it one last review — the right properties, direction, and anchor.
  2. Make sure at least some operators are ready to join runs (a pass with no machines has nothing to claim its work).
  3. Choose Activate.
  4. The swarm goes live: on the opening move machines fan out from the anchor, then each continuously claims its highest-value next property.

What activation triggers

  • Claims begin. Each operator's first GPS ping bootstraps their first property; from there the swarm keeps feeding them work.
  • Customer alerts fire. Contacts on included properties can get pass-started and en-route updates (respecting quiet hours and opt-outs).
  • The dashboard comes alive — fleet liveness, per-pass progress, and coverage all start updating in real time.

Staging vs. activating

Keep the two separate on purpose. Build passes calmly before the storm; activate the moment you decide to roll. If you need to hold the priority pass until 4 a.m. and the rest until dawn, stage both and activate each when its window opens — the fleet picks up the newly live work automatically.
