Marker runs — installing and pulling driveway markers

What a marker run is

Twice a season you don't plow — you stake driveway markers before the snow flies, and pull them in spring. Snowmass runs these as marker runs: the same swarm dispatch and the same operator flow as a storm, just a different job at each stop.

• Install run — an operator drives to each property and places the markers, so plows (and homeowners) can see the driveway edges all winter.
• Removal run — the spring pass that collects them again.

How they're dispatched

A marker run is a pass, exactly like a storm pass — the fleet fans out from the yard, claims stops atomically, and self-heals if a machine drops. Everything you know about joining, pausing, and completing stops works identically. The only difference is the work at the stop: place or pull markers instead of clearing snow.

Joining a marker run

Marker runs appear right alongside storms on your standby home — same Join button — and operators run them exactly like a storm (see Standby — your home between runs and Join a run and start your shift). Nothing special to learn.

Where the markers come from

The driveway-marker service is built in, so a property that needs markers is picked up automatically when you open an install run — no per-storm setup. See Properties & service for how a property gets flagged for markers.
