Availability polls: "can you work today?"

Ask once, hear from everyone

Before a storm you need a headcount, not a phone tree. An availability poll sends one question — "can you work today?" — to the whole crew and collects the answers in one place.

How it works

1. Open a poll and pick who it goes to — the whole crew or a subset.
2. Snowmass sends it async by SMS, email, or in-app, whichever each person uses.
3. Operators reply yes or no from their phone. No app install required to answer.
4. You watch responses land live — available, unavailable, and who hasn't answered yet.

Why it's separate from attendance

A poll answers who can work. It is not a commitment to a start time — that's what attendance confirmation is for. Keeping them apart means an early "I'm available" never gets confused with "I'll be there at 7."

Reading the results

• Available — count on them; they'll get the confirmation next.
• Unavailable — they're out for this storm; no follow-up.
• No response — chase these directly; they haven't seen it or haven't decided.
