The storm on the shop wall

The wall display is a read-only, always-on view of the live storm for a screen in your office or shop: the map with your tractors by name and a status rail (the storm, and alerts when a tractor goes quiet). It is internal only: it never shows customer properties, addresses, stop totals or progress, and it is never for customers or the public. With no storm running it shows a clock, and it switches to the map by itself when one starts.

Who can open it

Anyone on your team who is signed in (admin, dispatcher, operator, customer service or viewer) can open /wall. A customer account cannot. For a TV that can't sign in, use a wall link.

Create the link

An admin opens Settings → Office wall display and taps Create wall link. Copy it straight away: it is shown once, it expires after 90 days, and it is for the shop TV only. Replace link or Turn off wall display disconnects every screen within about 15 seconds.

Screen options

Options ride on the link, so two screens can differ. Tick them when you create the link, or add them to the address:

  • rail=0 — map only, no status panel
  • labels=1 — tractor names always shown
  • satellite=1 — satellite map

The wall follows the screen's system light or dark setting; add ?theme=dark or ?theme=light to the /wall address to pin one.

Hardware and setup

A Chromebox or ChromeOS Flex machine is the easy choice; a Raspberry Pi 5 also works. Keep the display awake, open the link full screen, and bookmark the original link so it reconnects itself. The page keeps the screen awake, refreshes on its own and reloads daily.
